Menopause is the stage of a woman's life in which she stops having periods. It usually begins at age 45, when the ovaries stop producing the hormones estrogen and progesterone.

Most women fear reaching that time for fear of the hormonal changes that occur in the body. We all know the famous "hot flashes" that they experience without apparent cause, but, in fact, there are many other symptoms that warn you that you are entering menopause.

As in puberty, it is a time when the body is undergoing drastic hormonal changes, which obviously affect emotions. If you notice that you experience sudden ups and downs of mood without apparent cause, you are probably entering menopause.

If at night hot flashes and sweats do not let you sleep, you may be experiencing the symptoms of this dreaded stage. Experts have observed that menopausal women rarely get to sleep all they need.

Although not all women experience weight gain during menopause, lack of estrogen can wreak havoc on metabolism. This is why doctors urge pre-menopausal women to practice healthy eating and exercise habits before entering this phase.

7 – Loss of memory

This is possibly the most worrying point of this list. Menopause has been associated with what is known as "brain fog." Menopausal women may have trouble concentrating and remembering certain things. If you have memory problems lately, go to your doctor immediately.

It is clear that being a woman is not easy. Between puberty, pregnancy and menopause, our hormones seem to be partying all day. The truth is that we all have to go through this stage sooner or later, so we can only try to cope with it in the best possible way.
