1 – All calories are the same

In general, people believe that to lose weight should consume fewer calories, regardless of the foods from which those calories come . However, it is important to note that not all calories are the same. Each food is metabolized in a different way and has different effects on our sensation of satiety and hunger.

For example, the calories provided by proteins are not the same as those provided by fat or carbohydrates. In fact, several studies have shown that if we replace carbohydrates and fats with proteins, our metabolism can accelerate. However, it is important that the three macronutrients are part of our diet.

2- Drinking water with lemon on an empty stomach

Although many times we have argued that drinking water with lemon fasting is beneficial for the body, it should be noted that it will not make you lose weight more than if you simply drink water.

The habit of drinking water will help you eliminate toxins, avoid fluid retention and hydrate the body. In fact, it will even increase your feeling of fullness. Of course, do not think that by adding lemon these effects will be enhanced.

3- Carbohydrates get fat

This is one of the most popular myths, however, it is not true. Carbohydrates in themselves do not make you fat, the problem is to base your diet on them, especially when they are refined. Sugar or refined flours are carbohydrates that we should avoid and that are related to weight gain. On the other hand, whole grains are healthy and necessary carbohydrates.

4- Fats get fat

Generally, fats are always related to weight gain. However, it all depends on the type of fat you consume. Fats from foods like avocado, olive oil or nuts are healthy fats. The saturated fats characteristic of ultra-processed products are those that we must avoid.

5- Breakfast is the most important meal of the day

Our parents and grandparents have been telling us since we were little, but this is not entirely true . Starting a good breakfast is of vital importance as it will help us gain energy from the early morning. However, breakfast is just as important as any other meal. Not because you eat more or better, you will lose weight faster and you will not be healthier. It is important to have a balanced diet throughout the day.
